In sports, there are always the discussions about talents and what will become of them. Our former U-21 team was a whole bunch of talents and they even had fun playing soccer together. I’m not saying that it was a certainty to win the title, but with all modesty, we would all have been quite annoyed if we had not won it. Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummel, Bene Höwedes, Mesut Özil and I still went on a long way together.
